curently we have a pay by class system for registering students we want to upgrade to a pay by module system while maintaining our system hirearchy (you can not move on to say mod 2 of a course unless you have purchased mod 1's package, aka no skiping "unwanted" mods)

we use mysql for user storage and some class info
php pages for the course content
and xml for our sylabus/link list
