Self-taught novice needs help, will pay$$!!
Hi all,
I'm a self-taught novice PHP/MySQL coder. I bought a book 2 years ago and have been wading thru it since then.
I now have an opportunity to sell a catalog/e-commerce application. The application is nearly finished; I only have a couple of features left to build. However, I don't feel confident enough in my coding skills to actually take people's money.
The application consists of a product catalog, a product detail page, and a shopping cart. Check out and payment are handled by either PayPal or a print-and-mail order form. It also includes a rudimentary back-end administration section for management of product details. Totals about 15 pages, roughly 2500-3000 PHP/HTML lines. I think an experienced coder should be able to look through it in no more than 3-4 hours. Most of it is very simple, I don't use any OOP, and the dozen or so functions I've written are fairly self-explanitory.
The database is similarly straightforward.
I need an experienced PHP/MySQL programmer to look over my current code and database, and make suggestions for optimization, point out security holes, and generally rip it to shreds. As all online payment will be handled by PayPal, I'm not too worried about security, but I still want a second pair of eyes to go over everything.
As I am going to charge my clients for the finished system, I don't expect anyone to work for free. I don't know what the going rate is for code consulting, so I will entertain all offers.
Please email me if you are interested or would like additional details, jed at jedstheman dot com.
Thanks,
Jed Foster
