Start Up Opportunities!

An exciting opportunity to be one of the first 10 employees in a hot bay area start up, which aspires to be another Oracle or SAP - 5 years down the line.

The company is currently in stealth mode.

Our business model is based on selling software as a service in various niche areas for small to large customers. It would also be a composite application and is being designed to be hosted either at customer site or at reputed hosting providers.

Our company's plan is to go initially on our own with no VC funding till the proof of concept stage and then fund operations through customer orders and/or friends/families. Obviously this approach would also boost equity values held by key employees since there would be no dilution.

Based on current stage, we are therefore looking only for those who would be willing to work for equity compensation only with no cash compensation . The number of hours and timings can be flexible.

Position 1:

Proof of Concept Developer: should have at least 5 years of 'hands on' software development experience in web development using latest web 2.0 components, specially Ajax and PHP/MySQL. The candidate is expected to have a flair for developing neat professional looking UIs for a business environment. Candidate should also have a good knowledge of functional table level architectures, relational databases and excellent object oriented design and development skills.

Position 2:

Web Services/ SOA Developer: should have at least 5 years of 'hands on' software development experience in building/supported hosted applications. Candidate should also extensive familiarity with Application Servers (Apache/Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere) and should also have hands on experience in building information exchange applications leveraging XML/web services, SOA and BPEL.


Both candidates would attend regular strategy/coordination sessions and based on issues/goals discussed in these meetings, they should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

The pace of work over the next 1 year is expected to be very hectic.
