Cracking the code
This has actually nothing to do with the web.
My admin guy has blocked the c: drive. Is there a way to access winpopup? Thanks, Liam |

RE: Cracking the code
How exactly has he blocked the c drive? It's rather hard for him to block the c drive completely, as I am assuming that is where the operating system is....

RE: Cracking the code
No, he has blocked us from seeing it (all the folders) via Explorer and even DOS-Prompt ... I just want to access a file ... I thought I could create a .com file, and go from there ... I just don't know how.
THanks, Liam |

RE: Cracking the code
I have been racking my brain to remember the program that does this. It is on the windows CD 95 & 98. It is in an Admin dir on the CD. It will stop you from doing the things you spoke of but anyone can run the program to turn them back on. If I remember I will let you know.

RE: Cracking the code
Yeah you can use Poledit,.......but it depends what kind of network you are on. Is it windows? Or is it windows with Novell? Or is it windows with a domain. The reason I ask is because Novell controls the policy. You would need admin access to change it. There are several different exploits that will run on Novell 6.

RE: Cracking the code
Can somebody help me with winpopup?
I want to create my own winpopup because i don't want people to lock this application. I want it to run behind the desktop. |

RE: Cracking the code
LGetreu: do you have a home directory? If you do, maybe you can write a batch file to load winpopup for you. Is your run box disabled? Try 'windows button' + r. If you press Ctrl+Alt+Del, can you start a new task? I'm not too familiar with millenium, which is probably what you have, so there's a chance you can. If you are on NT workstation you can use the net send command. Or create a new task, if it is not disabled.
-edit- I just thought of something. If you are on NT, you may not have read access to winpopup.exe. In that case, copy from home and stick it in you home directory. Rename the file so as not to look suspicious. If you have read access but no execute, also copy to your home directory. -edit- I don't think any NT version has winpopup, so its probably millenium. |

RE: Cracking the code
Try simply using a shortcut, by making one:
