datafeed problem

i am writing data(from data .txt file) to a XML file(dataxml.php)thru coding and want to display the xml file and use RSS feed on it. but while displaying the XML file the error is coming like this:

A semi colon character was expected. Error processing resource 'http://localhost/insurance/dataxml.xml'. Line 33, Position 72

<Title>NIV Hope for the Highway Paperback New Testament/Psalms&Proverbs</Title>
----------------------------------------------
-------------------------^

but i am adding a semicolon then also it's not working. What could be the problem. plz guide me. i don't have good knowledge in XML. Is there any other way to display the data & link in a website from a text file using XML? plz help me. Thanks a lot in advance.

The & is causing the problem. Make sure you do an HTML entity conversion on the strings you use within the tags.

eg:

$title = "NIV Hope for the Highway Paperback New Testament/Psalms&Proverbs";
echo "<title>".htmlentities($title, ENT_QUOTES)."</title>";
