give actual or relative size?
I like to think I've got this html thing sussed so I was surprised when I evaluated an page tool yesterday to find that it didn't like my image tags because I give the size in pixels rather than 100%.
My understanding is that by giving the size in pixels the browser can allocate the space on the page, download the image and pop it in, no need to rejig the page. Putting 100% would mean that the image wouldn't need rework but the page wouldn't be set up properly. Any thoughts on who is right and who is wrong? |

RE: give actual or relative size?
Watchfire WebQA - Content
Under Accessibility 3.4 Use relative sizing and positioning, rather than absolute. I understand the goals of accessibility however I don't see how relative sizing would help a system "reading" the page. |
