help with disabling a submit button

Hi,
I have recently purchased a reseller hosting package with a webhost and im starting to sell on accounts/create accounts for friends and im having problems i want it to when someone clicks "create my account" then once it has been clicked once it is then disabled so it cannot be clicked again does anyone know how to do this. I think it will involve javascript but i need help with the logic more than anything for example would it be:
- user clicks submit
- variable (javascript) is incremented
- if statement tests if variable is 1
- if the variable is 1 disable the button

RE: help with disabling a submit button

Its not that involved, try adding this to the form tag.

onsubmit="document.form.submit.disabled=true

'form' should be the name of your form
'submit' should be the name of you submit button

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply
However it does disable the submit button once it has been pressed once but then it does nothing. For example it should then be submitted to itself to create the account and it isnt doing this any ideas why?

RE: help with disabling a submit button

It is probably because once the submit button is disabled, it no longer gets posted in the querystring, so if you are using an if(isset($_POST['submit'])) conditional, it will not process the php inside that conditional, probably need to add a hidden field that holds some sort of value, and evaluate that in your conditional.
