The code you posted is not JSON, it is a Javascript object. JSON is a framework which allows data to be converted into various formats to allow it to be read by other languages, in the case of Javascript, objects.

From JSON.org:

Quote:
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format.

Nothing about frameworks in there, it is just a way to represent various bits of data.

How is that not JSON? JSON is just a short hand way to write an object in javascript. It is a javascript object that is created using notation.

So how is the code i posted not a notation? It is just a shorthand way of writing out the entire class.

Yes, via it's framework. JSON is not some magical entity that interacts with 100 languages, it has it's own framework, for each language, that allows it to compile JSON notation. In the case of Javascript, which it was originally based on, with objects, a built-in method of Javascript.

How do you imagine JSON creates the custom objects?

just because there are frameworks for it, doesn't make it a framework. There are frameworks for PHP, does that make PHP a framework? no. There are frameworks for JS, does that make JS a framework? no. JSON by itself, is just a shorthand way to write an object. It does have a framework for it, does that make it a framework? no.

Native code...hense the missing need for the framework for JSON to work.

It says so right in the first paragraph that JSON is a text format. It doesn't say anything about it being a framework. Just because there is a framework to handle it still doesn't make it a framework by itself.
