Make a pause in Javascript

I wanna know how to make a "pause" between scripts

ex:

document.forms[0].submit

//make a pause here... otherwise forms[0] cannot be submitted

document.forms[1].submit

Try this:

timeout = setTimeout("javascript statement", number_of_milliseconds);
