making my index 'page' for my forum

win xp,phpbb 2.0.6-
Ok, I'm a dummy and know no code really-the forum is preinstalled on my hosting server with admin panel. I own www.whatever.com but the forum can't load there it must be in a subfolder www.whatever.com/forum

NOW, how in the world do I get the first webpage or 'index' page to really be the /forum page?
I tried a redirect and it threw up on that so it CAN"T be that hard can it?? Please help a stupie newbie! Thx!

I don't know-my host is Lunarpages.com whatever they use. http://www.lunarpages.com/plan1.htm
is my package. I will scan the site and see if they even say what they are using. It's all point and click using their control panel. And I ftp pic changes etc.

I just noticed that you said it was pre-installed by your web host...The first place to ask for help is your web host. Try them first and then come back here if they can not help you.

did that-they said they don't handle software web design questions. The forum works fine , so from their perspective they are good to go.

RE: making my index 'page' for my forum

why not try a php redirect?

php Code:
Original - php Code
  1.
  2. <?php
  3. header("location:path/to/forum/index.php");
  4. ?>

Replace path/to/forum with the real path, and you should be good to go.
