passing variables
Is it just IE or why can I not pass variables in a textbox when the user presses enter inside of the textbox. Should I have to disable the enter key in the textfield to restrict the submit to the button? It seems like it should be more practical than this.
I apologize for messy code. In the html index file <javascript> function noenter() { return !(window.event && window.event.keyCode == 13); } ; </javascript> </form html> <form method="POST" action="mnarecords.php"> <table width="422" border="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td width="301"> <input type="text" name="searchstring" onkeypress="return noenter()" size="50"> </td> <td width="288"> <select size="1" name="searchtype"> <option selected value="value">value</option> </select> </td> </tr> </table> <table width="422" border="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td width="180"> </td> <td width="57"> <input type="submit" value="SEARCH" name="B1" class="button1"> </td> <td width="179"> </td> </tr> </table> </form> </form html> <in the php file to display according to variables> $searchType = $_POST['searchtype']; $searchString = $_POST['searchstring']; </in the php file to display according to variables> These variables will not fill when the user presses enter in the textbox. Very Frustrating. Thanks in advance. |
