problem viewing images
Since maybe one month I'm having problem viewing some web sites that have pictures/ thumbnails on them, they simply won't load, doesn't even show the red X and there isn't an option Show picture on the right click menu, just a blank space. Often I get errors shown in the yellow triangle warning icon displayed at the IE staus bar saying:
Error: 'document.getElementByld(...)' is null or not an object Code:0 or 'document.images.status_icon' is null or not an object. I tried opening the same web sites both with Firefox and Internet Explorer, but the problem remains... Does anybody have an idea how can I fix that? I really appreciate your help |

RE: problem viewing images

RE: problem viewing images
that's a javascript error.
the error might not relate to the images, though.. no idea why images would just stop loading for you, though.. sure it's not just particular sites with crap design? |

RE: problem viewing images
no, it happens on a lot of sites...even my yahoo album: photos.yahoo.com/annito85 wouldn't load all the pictures, if I refresh the page it loads a few but not all of them, and it used to be working properly before. I know it is a javascript error, Jason, but don't know how to fix it.Got any ideas? I wonder why would it happen since I haven't changed anything on my system.
Thanks again |

RE: problem viewing images
Does the javascript error appear on EVERy page this happens to and not others?
I've never heard of something like this before... Can you think of anything you might have done before this started? Installed anything? Browser plugins or other software? Have you tried reinstalling IE/FF? I really don't know what to tell you, but this is probably not the best place to ask. It's not a PHP-related question nor a programming related question, since these are not sites you have built. I wish I could help more, nontheless.. but I'm at a loss. : |

RE: problem viewing images
did you look in your accessibility options to make sure there is no stylesheet being defined? i only ask because that's a prank i've found quite humorous to play on people... perhaps someone is playing a prank on you.
either way it's not that un-common of a problem.. |

RE: problem viewing images
in my first post I explained that I'm using both IE and FF and both show the same error...so obviously the problem is not in my IE.

RE: problem viewing images
if it's not a setting hiding somewhere, then i would guess it's your ISP, or possibly TCP/IP some how got messed up. run some scans with AVG, spybot and ad-ware, and/or a program called winsockfix. they're all free.
if all else fails you could re-install windows. might sound drastic but it would work. |

RE: problem viewing images
Thank you so much for the idea to use winsockfix, I fixed the problem and everything is back to normal now
