Re: grab information from one related site to another....??
I have a question to ask concerning the ability to spider or grab, legally, from another relative website, the information from that sites database information on the site html itself not the database, like the parts and the total parts available. Can I grab that information and dynamically place this information into a new site that is being built for same company.
I know this sounds confusing, but the company doesn't want to have to go through the database that is on the main site, they want to be able to grab the information from the main website's echoed database results and be able to count the total, using PHP, of all the parts available and display the manufacturers and other stuff from within on the other new relative site.
I assumed it would be easier to grab information directly from the main site's database not the html page and echo results onto this new site, but they don't want to connect to the database. I don't understand...
Can any one help! thanks
