16*10 + 9*4 = 196?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I count a total of 19 links, not 16 as it's mentioned on the preview page.

19*10 + 9*4 = 226

Why is that difference?

RE: 16*10 + 9*4 = 196?

There are 16 green blocks in the map. These 16 block are the corridors and these 16 green blocks is the number 16 in the statement "16*10" !!
There are 9 diagonal connections and therefore "9*4" !!

Then maybe it would be useful to correct this sentence:

"Each corridor block will add 10 to the cost, and each diagonal corridor will add another 4 to the cost."

Actually not each diagonal corridor adds another 4, but each diagonal connection. Otherwise the whole calculation should be: 16*10 + 7*4 = 188, because the diagonal corridors are 7 - not 9!

Please look onto the image in this thread:
http://codewalkers.com/forum/index.php?action=displaythread&forum=currentcontest&id=80&realm=default

There you can see the little yellow circles. These yellow circles are the diagonal connections which count 4 extra points to the costs. You forget the two diagonal connections on the most left side.

I understand the algorithm of counting the points, but I insist that the sentence of describing it is not clear enough.
