16*10 + 9*4 = 196?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I count a total of 19 links, not 16 as it's mentioned on the preview page.
19*10 + 9*4 = 226 Why is that difference?

There are 16 green blocks in the map. These 16 block are the corridors and these 16 green blocks is the number 16 in the statement "16*10" !!
There are 9 diagonal connections and therefore "9*4" !!

Then maybe it would be useful to correct this sentence:
"Each corridor block will add 10 to the cost, and each diagonal corridor will add another 4 to the cost." Actually not each diagonal corridor adds another 4, but each diagonal connection. Otherwise the whole calculation should be: 16*10 + 7*4 = 188, because the diagonal corridors are 7 - not 9!

Please look onto the image in this thread:
http://codewalkers.com/forum/index.php?action=displaythread&forum=currentcontest&id=80&realm=default There you can see the little yellow circles. These yellow circles are the diagonal connections which count 4 extra points to the costs. You forget the two diagonal connections on the most left side.
