Ok so the cost of a diagonal block is 14 right? Not just 4?

RE: Diagonal Blocks
Not exactly. The block itself is 10. The diagonal connection to another block, in the form below, is 4:
02 X0 [where 2 is a corridor, X is a wall (1) or corridor (2) and 0 is an empty] So, the corridor block in this situation: 00000 00100 00200 00010 00000 adds 14: 10 for the block and 4 for the diagonal, while the corridor here: 00000 01000 00200 00010 00000 actually adds 18: 10 for the block and 8 for >two< diagonals. c. |
