Don't know where to start

I'm hoping to create a searchable database for my webpage but I have no idea where to start. I have little to no knowledge of pHp and my only knowledge of databases is from Microsoft Access. I have XAMPP and was hoping there is a way to to play around with this before uploading. Any help or links to good helpful sites would be appreciated, Thanks!

If you want an actual searchable database, you will want to look into using FULL_TEXT. That allows you to make a simple query and let the database do all the work on pulling back search results and rank them by how close they are to the search text. First though you probably want to learn a little php and how to use the data that is returned from a query.

Thank you, do you have any suggestions on where to find some good relevant tutorials?
