MySQL installation problems

Why oh why dosn't it work?

I am running Apache 1.3 and php 4 on win98 SE. I am trying to install MySQL so i can make use of php's excellent database functions, but I am having trouble. My DocumentRoot is d:website but php and apache are both installed on my c drive. Where do I install MySQL to?

You can install MySQL anywhere you like. It is not dependant on where PHP or apache is installed.....After you have it installed, you will need to run a program called "mysql-d.exe" in the bin directory of wherever you installed it....
