Design - Queries average time - need help
i need to create a database for a swimming club. in this i want to create a report of all the swimmers times. i thought it would be quite good if i could show an average time for each swimmer at each distance and stroke. ie
Freddie 100metres 1:10:00 Frontcrawl 100metres 1:20:00 Frontcral Average = Freddie 200metres 2:10:00 Backcrawl 200metre 2:20:00 Backcrawl Average = Does this make sense? i have set up a query with SwimmerID, Name, StrokeID, Distance and Time. How would i make an average time from this????? |

look into AVG and possibly a GROUP BY clause.
