RE: starting mysql

It seems you didn't remove everything.
I think it would be better to do a new instalation than try to find the solution for this error.

RE: starting mysql

thats the thing. according to PHPDev, all you have to do is delete C:phpdev and all is fine.

then, the first time i installed using FoxServ it all worked fine. then i found out that there were new versions of PHP/APache and mysql so i decided a new "manual" installation. but now all of the sudden this.

any ideas on a file that could be doing this? ive seen references accross the net to my.cnf well, i have severel my.cnf files and language=pathtohere

my-huge.cnf
my-large.cnf
my-medium.cnf
my-small.cnf

i dont know. ill try installing mysql again

RE: starting mysql

Check for a my.cnf file in your windows or windows/system directory...in fact, do a search on your entire C: drive for that file....
