starting mysql
i had PHP/Mysql/Apache installed via PHPDev, after removing that (to upgrade them) i decided to manualy install.
now i am recieving this error C:MYSQLBINMYSQLD.EXE: Fatal error: Can't find messagefile 'C:phpdevmysqlshareenglisherrmsg.sys' i have searched high and low for hours now on how to fix this and i cant find a thing. can anyone please help me before i go insane(er) |

It seems you didn't remove everything.
I think it would be better to do a new instalation than try to find the solution for this error. |

thats the thing. according to PHPDev, all you have to do is delete C:phpdev and all is fine.
then, the first time i installed using FoxServ it all worked fine. then i found out that there were new versions of PHP/APache and mysql so i decided a new "manual" installation. but now all of the sudden this. any ideas on a file that could be doing this? ive seen references accross the net to my.cnf well, i have severel my.cnf files and language=pathtohere my-huge.cnf my-large.cnf my-medium.cnf my-small.cnf i dont know. ill try installing mysql again |

Check for a my.cnf file in your windows or windows/system directory...in fact, do a search on your entire C: drive for that file....
