SQL - Updating tables

hi everyone

i was wondering if anyone could help me with an SQL problem, i am trying to build and script which deletes data, summates it and logs teh summation details. However i have come to slight problem, i need to get it to update the newest row added to the database so i don't have to change the ID number everytime i run the code.

Does anyone know how to do an update statament that updates the newest row added to a table?
