Blogs. etc.

I have decided to remove the blogs from Codewalkers. Many of you are wondering why, and I here I plan to explain.

As most of you know, I am a Christian. I believe some things are right and others are wrong. I believe in the Bible and the teaching of Jesus Christ. Many that claim to be Christians watch and condone things going on that are wrong. I simply can't do that.

Recently there has been some links from the blogs that contained objectionable material. Seeing as those links come from Codewalkers.com, they are tied directly to me. I just can't have that. I believe the material (pornography) is wrong and I won't have anything to do with it. Many people's definition of pornography is different, so let me tell you mine. Anything depicting a nude person, whether it is a real or cartoon character, is pornography in my book. Simple as that.

In dealing with this blog situation, it also has come to my attention that other sites linked to by Codewalkers contained objectionable material. So, I am limiting the ways Codewalkers links to other sites. The first thing you may notice is that there is no longer a homepage link for each user at the end of their posts. I am also scrutinizing the content of the partner sites and sites in the Links section very closely.

Let's all remember that this is a PHP forum. Goofing off and chatting about non-PHP things is OK in the appropriate forum (General Chat), but off color remarks or anything offensive is strictly off limits. My rule of thumb is, "If I don't want my kids to see it, it doesn't need to be here."

To those of you with blogs, I sincerely apologize. I know that the vast majority of you had absolutely no objectionable content and I hate that you need to suffer because of this. If you would like to obtain the content of your blog, please contact me and I will gladly supply it to you.

Its nice to see some websites still have morals and are conciencious about their content.

Yep.. they are back anyway..

Small problem. All blogs works except the blogs with sub domain to codewalkers.com.
eg : http://*****.codewalkers.com - doesn't work!

Others in directories work fine..
eg : http://blogs.codewalkers/*****

hope you'll have a look!

I think the intention of that was so that you could back up all of your blog stuff before it is cut loose.

RE: Blogs. etc.

I understand Matt's decision to remove the blogs from codewalkers; If something resides within the codewalkers' domain then obviously its content will reflect back on codewalkers.

But I also think removing links from profiles/signatures is something worth reconsidering since the contents of these links don't reside within the codewalkers domain. I've found lots of useful information by following a few signature links. People realize that such sites are the work of the posting author may reflect views different from those held at codewalkers.

Well, those are my two cents. Anyway, the blogs were nice while they lasted, I guess.

I know where you are coming from, but unfortunately, the bad seeds ruin it for the good seeds some times. The vast majority of people had nothing offesive in homepage links, but a few did. I have just chosen to take a stance and stick to it. I am sorry for those innocent bystanders that it effects. I honestly am. But in all crusades there are some innocent lives lost aren't there?

Ok, Matt.
It's your own web host, and you are able to do every thing you want to do for it. However, I ask you to send me the contents that I had wrote it inside said_fox blog, because I had spent a lot of time in writing it. I will be so appreciated if they are in the form of SQL patch, to allow me easily handlling them in a data base to reuse them again.

i was never a fan of blogs but i think that the links at the bottom should stay and probably ban the people whose links turn up to be indecent.
