RE: Design Help

I agree with Honcho. CSS text looks good enough, loads fast and... is great.

RE: Design Help

Add "white-space: nowrap;" to the anchors to stop a single "tab" from being split between lines.

kendo: I wrote a tutorial on the very basics of CSS. You can find it on my site. But if you already know the basics, the tuorial won't help you.

I learned my "skills" at CSS from online tutorials. Too bad they were in Finnish so they won't be too helpful for you

Excellent references. Giving me some great ideas.

Honcho, a question on Floating boxes. I was looking at http://www.thenoodleincident.com/tutorials/box_lesson/boxes.html and like the box idea. But I noticed that they are all Column aligned. Do you know how one would do a 4 box page with only 2 columns ? Four boxes one stacked on top of another, two boxes wide ?? I can't find any reference to it.

RE: Design Help

Whew!!! CSS navigation bar hanging up there!!! Nice loads much faster than image buttons.... Good if you can make the font size bit larger than that....

bearqst, interesting question. Ask it in a new thread though (probably in the client-side forum would be best) and I'll work on it.

Another great CSS resource (and pretty much for everything else having to do with the web) is A List Apart.

RE: Design Help

i think the best bit about these css buttons is that when i had posted something on the forum the images had loaded but had shunted to the right so i couldnt see them all and i had to refresh to sort them out. Now theres no problem. Did anyone else have the same problem with the old images?
