RE: Login w/ cookies now!

Er... Actually, I'm strangely getting incorrect username errors now... but when I re-type in my info and recheck cookie option, I can login in...

Hmm..that is strange, you are the first problem I have heard with it. Try deleting your cookie for this site and then trying again...

RE: Login w/ cookies now!

I'm getting it too - at least when I try to get into the forum. Deleting the cookie didn't help.

RE: Login w/ cookies now!

Hmmm..I can't seem to replicate this..can you give me specs on your OS, web browser, etc. Also, tell me step by step what you do to get an incorrect username message. I will do my best to track it down...

RE: Login w/ cookies now!

I'm using Windows ME. I just checked and the problem happens to me with both IE 6.0.26 and Netscape 6.2.1.

From the home page, I login using the side bar and check the box to save in a cookie. Everything seems fine.
Click on and I get "Authentication Error: Bad Username". The side bar is also back to the username/password login box.
If I login to the supplied username/password boxes, I get into the forum no problem.

In IE, if I do the same thing but don't check the cookie box, no problems. But Netscape still has the same problem.

Possibly related:
If I log in, check the cookie box, close my browser, and open a new browser, I am not automatically logged in.

My cookies for IE include cookies for both codewalkers.com and www.codewalkers.com.
My cookies for Netscape include the following:
codewalkers.com - eflastvisit
codewalkers.com - codewalk
codewalkers.com - PHPSESSID
www.codewalkers.com - codewalk
www.codewalkers.com - PHPSESSID

RE: Login w/ cookies now!

That seemed to help, but not solve things completely.

If I logon and check the cookie box, then go to the forum, no problems. But I'm not automatically logged in and if I go to the forum without logging in I get the Bad Username error. In fact, I can't figure out how to view the forums anonymously.

RE: Login w/ cookies now!

The only thing I can think is that you somehow have a cookie stored that is passing the wrong username and password. Try clearing the cookies, closing the browser, and then trying again?

RE: Login w/ cookies now!

This cookie thing is annoying me. Could you add some info to the error message so I can see what username it's getting from the cookie?
