Anyone ever see this?

this was posted at another forums, and it kinda disturbed me... i posted to the site too....

Dotgeek Free PHP Certification
January 03 2004
We are glad to announce the DotGeek PHP Certified Programmer certification programme.

The certification, offered totally free, is based upon the submission of sample code or tutorials on the site and not on a traditional examination. A qualified certification board will analyze all postings.

More Information at: http://www.dotgeek.org/about.php?type=certify

This is not right for people who want to code, and actually learn the code instead of just making a quick unique script, and getting a certification... Id like to have a certification, but i dont think dotgeek is going about it properly... I dont want to just submit code, and get a certification, when i know i dont know hardly anything enough to make good code.. and not only that,, an exam i believe is still the best way to make sure coders know what they are doing...

Just wanted some input on the subject...
just figured someone could take some code from someone else and post it and get their certification...
the other person may not ever go to the site...
