Anyone have any thoughts on Zend Studio?

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has any practical experience with Zend Studio and can give me some thoughts on it. I have been tempted to buy it recently, I do have the evaluation version but was wondering what people with real experience with it think of it.

Is it really any better than other IDE's available out there?

Thanks for any tips

Andrew

it depends on the user and what they want. I have tried Zend Studio and it was OK but was missing things I consider must haves (at the time folding, FTP integration, ssh client and a couple other little things). but I have friends that swear by it and will not use anything else.

currently I use an alternate IDE and vim but am still keeping my eye on Zend since it has the best debugger (don't normally use) and code completion (love it for classes and functions param order). Will I get it - very possibly in the future once it has the things I like.

Care to share what other IDE you use Lig? I'm just trying to narrow down my list of options. The latest version of Zend does include FTP support just incase you did not know

I use the latest version of nusphere phped. there are a few things that irritate me about it (how it handles tabs and code completion for SPL classes) but for me the the built in ftp, terminal, cvs out weigh it.

I have been using Zend for a few months now and I like it. The integrated FTP was a must for me, due to the sheer number of sites I work on at any given time. So many have complained that it's slow due to being coded in Java, I haven't noticed that on XP or OS X. I am currently recovering from a hand injury so my WPM is not what it was but it seems pretty snappy to me.
