Areas of programming...

I am new to programming and am wondering what area I would enjoy the most. So my question is what general areas of programming are there?

RE: Areas of programming...

Thats a loaded question. Well, what would you like to do, as in, what functions would you like to have your code serve?

Programming -
Hmmm off the top of my head there is web, software, game, online game, database, application, network, server, client, creating new languages, hardware, operating system, testing, and probably a few others.

web programming can include pages, bash scripts, networks, browsers, client-server, sockets, databases, internationalization, localization, email, server scripts, security, and more.

as a programmer - the more you learn about things the more you find out how little you know.
