electrifiedForum Lives Again!
Hi All,
I hope I am not violating any of CodeWalker's policies by doing this, but I wanted to announce that (by Popular Demand) electrifiedPenguin has re-released the last version of electrifiedForum (same forum as used here minus the customizations) for download. Please visit http://www.electrifiedpenguin.com for more information. I have not ruled out developing this 'Classic' eF before release of eF 2. If you have questions, feel free to email me at info@electrifiedpenguin.com Thanks, Scott |

RE: electrifiedForum Lives Again!
I'll let you slide by posting this ;).
Anyway, good to hear from you. I am always interested in helping with the development of eF Classic. If you ever want some help squashing bugs or adding features, let me know! |

RE: electrifiedForum Lives Again!
Ok...three things...
1. electrifiedPenguin's web site is getting alot of updates, even got the forums back up and running there for dealing with support issues, etc. With #3 below, it will probably see ALOT of updates over the next few weeks. 2. eF Classic... I have a nearly-finished ver 1.75 almost ready for release. Actually most of the work on this ver is old, but it has considerable changes, especially in the speed/resource improvement area (hopefully). I want to make a few final changes, and here is what I would like to offer, should you be willing: After 1.75, turn the eF Classic codebase over to different 'maintainers/developers'. My hope, is that, the developers here at codewalkers would be willing to do that. I really like what you guys have done with customizations, (I love the 'My Threads' feature, even put it on the TODO list...) and I would like to see it in good hands. If you accept, the direction, roadmap, release schedule, todo, etc would be entirely up to you, and I would stay involved to the level you would be willing, including keeping it as an official electrifiedPenguin project (giving you guys site access, whatever else is needed), QA Testing, proving the support, etc. Let me know what you would like to see done. 3. Due to unreconciliable differences with my boss at my day job, despite my unmatched capability, irreplacability (those are not just my words either), and innumerable contributions to technology that would have otherwise cost them 3-4 times what I was being paid a year, I have 'resigned'. The real bottom line is, my boss was intimidated by my knowledge and skill, and he was doing everything in his power to make it real hard for me to work there. Termination was imminent, I was able to work out a decent deal with HR that by resigning so that I wont be out on the street too soon, but it will not be too long before the money flow stops. So if anyone has any pet projects they are willing to pay a decent php/mysql programmer to do, I would be more than willing to help. Im inexpensive, just looking to cover living expenses in the interim. Thanks, Scott |
