hardware changed

if I change my motherboard and CPU, i need to format HDD and reinstall OS ?

If you are using XP, I think you have to reformat, because it sees a different hardware configuration other than the one you registered. Windows 2000 and below will usually adapt to the changes you make to it, within reason of course.

Yes, I'm using WinXP. What will happen? if I really change my hardware such as CPU and also graphics card without uninstalling the previous hardware drivers.

I just changed my graphics card and once you install drivers everything is alright.

Alright... I just test, nothing spoil. I changed my CPU, graphic card, sound card.
