Help, looking for project

Okay so its been some time since I was around, and even longer since i did anything to do with php, but I am now back at university, in the uk, doing the 4th year of a 5 year course that will lead me into a masters degree in software engineering.
One of things I have to do this year is a 'group project' - the group is small this year - 2 strong. Basically we have to do something, something for an actual real client, and it has to be a suitable complex bit of software development to challenge us because as masters students we *supposed* to be really good. So if any of you out there have some pet project that never got done but would be really useful or know of someone or something that might be suitable I would very much like to hear from you. By way of example last years group created a piece of software that analyised source code and could produce a wide variety of metrics including graphical representations and flow charts etc. Fully functional fully documented etc.
Personally I would quite like to do something to with opensource, so that not only I am I getting a bit of my degree but I also get to contribute something to the community.

Anyways, personal plea over, I hope you are all well it seems things have been going pretty nicely in here, something that I hope will continue for a very long time.
