Host?
Hi Matt:
I read in another thread that Codewalkers is hosted from JohnCompanies.com; a virtual server. But I did a little digging up, and the "name servers" for codewalkers is: ns1.zoneedit.com ns2.zoneedit.com Just wondering, looking at zoneedit.com, which is a DNS program. Do you host codewalkers using johncompanies.com, or zoneedit.com? What do you do with zoneedit.com? Just wondering, because I'm thinking of personally hosting my site. Thanks for your input!! RE: Host?
Hi:
Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering, there are many services out there like zoneedit for DNS services. I was just wondering, are there any programs out there for download (winxp pro) that I could use? I would create a zone for my website, and that would provide me with 2 name servers? Is that possible? Thanks for any replies you can give me!! Ken Cooper |

RE: Host?
No...I wouldn't recommend running DNS servers on your PC...they are something that needs to be totally reliable and the two servers should be in two different physical locations.
And Zoneedit is free for the first 5 domains! |

and why don't you serve your own DNS server? |

RE: Host?
I have before but just am not right now. I used to run another virtual server at a different company to be my secondary dns server and the primary was on the same box as codewalkers. I will eventually get them back up and running. I have great name server names :
ns1.unresolved.net ns2.unresolved.net |
