I want a new job

I would really like to find myself a new job. I am very tired of working where I do. Normally, I am not one to jump ship from a place and just start looking elsewhere, but the environment where I am in now is just way too unstable. (They have let go 3000 in technology within the past 4 months!). I don't feel like sitting around until it is my time to be fired.

So, if you know of any companies, that have an office in Jacksonville, Florida (or don't mind telecommuting), that are looking for a good employee, please let me know!

I obviously can do PHP programming. I also have quite a bit of experience as a Database Analyst on Microsoft SQL Server 6.5/7/2000. In fact, that is my current job. I also perform System Administrator functions for any windows environment (NT/2000/95/98/XP). I prefer working with 2000 Server if I have a choice. I currently manage a server farm composed of a mixture of windows 2000 and nt boxes. Fax, ftp, print, file, and database servers. Domain controllers, etc.

I also know my way around FreeBSD and all the tools needed to go with it. Qmail, Apache, proftpd, cvs, etc.

tech department where i work has been hit pretty hard to. what's up with that? anyway i think ultimately i'd like to be working for myself, or doing something new in the long run, personally.

Geez, it seems as if we are all in the same boat here. What makes it worse is here in SA the economic climate has been rigamortised at best. Jobs are really hard to come by in IT here these days. Anyone want to start a consulting firm with branches all over the world?

I make viscoelastic foams

It is probably several thousands km away, but I will think about this. Viscoelastic foams sounds very interesting :].

If anyone wants to put some sweat equity into a project... I have a winner that requires modification of an open source online bookmark script. It is the beginning of a web marketing and tracking system that could be very profitable and require thousands of hours of programming. The offer is to help me start it up then lead the development team.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the richest guys in the world are entrepreneurs. You can do it in IT or hauling garbage. Successful entrepreneurs start with a vision, organize the talents and resources of others, share the wealth with those who helped create it, and pay the salaries of those who just want a job. Success comes to those who can find the right team of people and weather the ups and downs of venture creation. But... the world considers you mentally ill... until you become successful... then you are a genius.
