Looking for script reccomendation

Hi,
Does anybody have a script suggestion that will do the following: create secure area for client login, so clients can login and only see files that pertain to them.
Currently what we do is, create static html pages, put in directory, create htaccess login.
Maybe something like a login script that redirects the client to their distinct section?
I have been digging around, and I have found a few things,,, but I am having some difficulty. It doesnt have to be a complete script suit, maybey several different scripts, then I can make them work together.
