newbie in the house
hi.
I'm an ASP developer (please don't hurt me!) trying to learn/shift to PHP. I've looked over your basic tutorials but I don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated. thanks. |

RE: newbie in the house
I find the best thing to do is just start coding! Find a simple application you would like to make (guestbook, tag board) and just go by trial and error. When you get stuck, ask here and we'll do our best to help...

RE: newbie in the house
Though I program in HTML and JavaScript for fun, I've decided if I want to earn an income in programing I had better learn PHP. Any beginners books you highly recommend, Matt?

RE: newbie in the house
I personally learn better by doing than by books. But I understand different folks are different. As for what book? I would recommend something that is PHP and database related:
