Suggestions...

I'm fairly new to PHP and am looking for some simple coding projects to put what I've learned into practice. I've already coded a simple photoalbum and a guestbook - does anyone have suggestions for other "get yer feet wet" projects?

RE: Suggestions...

I suggest that you browse the php code section of this site or go to http://hotscripts.com/ and find something that looks both interesting and challenging. Then try to do it yourself.

hm you could try coding your own forum. I'm sure that will keep you working for a while , but it shouldn't be to hard basicly, so possibly give that a try

RE: Suggestions...

there's a class out there somewhere which tries to guess the latitude and longitude of IP addresses.. find that, and turn it into a users online script, which also incorporates the GD library to draw out a map of the world with little red dots in the appropriate locations for every user accessing the application..

RE: Suggestions...

thanks for the suggestions - what I'd really like to do is use php and mySQL to make a computer do a backflip - but i think i'll go with simple forum, that should keep busy enough for awhile.

cheers.
