no actually we have a very in-genius method to prevent bots from spamming the forums, invented by yours truly.

all keystrokes are recorded on the clientside when you type in the textarea boxes, and then compared to that of the $_POST variable.. obviously, bots don't use text boxes, therefore they're not human, and ignored.

w00t! ...okay i'm lying.

In another forum I visit (not PHP related) this is always the case. A thread with a question will usually reach 50 or 60 posts before it dies off. One time someone asked a question then later found an answer before anyone replied and so they just edited the origianl message to "nevermind"... This started a huge thread. It became the 'official' nonsense thread of the forms and it is still alive today. It reached over 3000 posts at one time before a glitch in the forms caused about 1200 of them to disappear. It is slowly working its way back to being the largest thread in the forums.
