Usernames

At the time of writing this, there are 8702 registered users here at Codewalkers. It means that there are 8702 usernames. (I'm good in my math ).
Some of them are common and some aren't. I would like to know from each an every one here the story behind your username..
My username is nazly because its my name. Same applies to Matt and some of them. Postalcow and CodeKadiya gave their reasons about their usernames in their blogs
There are lot of usernames out there I have never figured it out what they mean or what really made them to choose it. Specially notepad, tkarkkainen, zombie to name few..

RE: Usernames

Well, there isn't a big story behind my username. It is my name. Really. My full name is Tommi Kärkkäinen, and in case you don't see the scandinavian characters correctly, the html code for the surname is Kärkkäinen.

Interesting topic by the way

RE: Usernames

I live in Interior Alaska and spend lots of time in the woods and I'm always looking out for bears. So the name bearqst is abbreviated for bear quest.

RE: Usernames

Wow, I've always wanted to see a bear. It's a magic moment when there's just the two: the man and the bear, both looking each other in the eye, excited.

Unfortunately I've never seen a bear live, even though they live right around the area where I live in. Some time ago a bear appeared in a place which was right next to an elementary school. Police officers came and shot the bear. I finally saw a bear, but what I wanted to see is a living bear. No, not the bears they keep in zoos, I mean a wild bear. Gotta go to the woods and look for bears next summer.

Probably you might plan a trip to Alaska next summer. I have only seen a bear at the Zoo. I might be able to join you next summer and we can go to Alaska and go in hunt for bears with bearqst.

RE: Usernames

My username is simply a nickname I picked up in college. Unfortunately, the specifics of the story are not for public consumption.

I've never seen a live bear outside of a zoo either.

RE: Usernames

i chose mine when i realized that most people go trough life like they have no brain, without thinking, just following orders, eating what they are served, never taking a stand.. in one word, like (mindless) zombies..

so to prove that i am different, i called myself zombie.. and it has been fun ever since.. it's almost 10 years now..

uff.. i am getting old.. :uhoh:
