Webcams and databases
Okay, so my boss has this great idea, but I have no idea where to start. He wants to be able to take a picture from a webcam/digicam and store it directly to a database, along with associated information (such as a persons name and contact information). Don't bother asking why..
The trouble is, I have no idea where to start with this one. Has anyone here worked on such a project before, or know of anywhere to start digging. I am plenty capable with PHP (and have started messing with php-gtk), and I know my way around databases, but devices (such as cameras) are beyond me.
If you know anything that would help (heck even other sites I can post the same question would be awesome), I would really appreciate it.
