They used to be number of posts, i think matt just brought the ratings back but didnt display the post count.

I should imagine they still work off post counts but the number of posts is not public.

I think the ratings are based on the post counts as it was used to be, though the number of posts are not displayed. Good to have it back. I'm a Guru now
I still wonder what made Matt to activate it.. :rolleyes:

Just wondering Matt, but did the removal of ratings affect the post distribution curve at all?

I haven't done any analysis of the posts before and after the removal of ratings, so I really can't say.
