XML to Mocha Latte, (and beyond)
I'm jsut kinda curious what the "accepted" web languages are and a little info on their function. With things like SET, SOAP, SUDS, SPAM, XML, XHTML, VRML, DHTML, JAVA, CSS, RSS....etc a web developer can get lost. in all the acronyms. Whic are dead? Which are Dying, which are going to cursh me like a steam roller unless i have super-Neo-Powers?

Each has there place in the big picture. What you use and what you learn - usually is driven by what you want to get out of it. Any knowledge gained is important. Learn what interests you is the best advise I can give.
