Additional Functions Request

I am currently using the calendar program without any problems but there is one feature that I would like to see added if possible. The ability to select multiple days for an event, say like a person is going on vacation and is taking the week off. The addition would allow you to add an event on the first day of the vacation and have the event end on the last day of vacation and automatically fill in all the days in between.

Thank you for making requests like this so easy.

RE: Additional Functions Request

Great calendar!!!

You have "recurring day of week" on the calendar.

Have you thought about:

1. Recurring date of year (like a birthday or anniversary)

2. Recurring day of week within a month (like where some clubs always meet the second Thursday of each month)

Thanks

RE: Additional Functions Request

I haven't thought about adding any more re-curring event support, either once a month or once a year. I'd just as soon rip out what's in there now.

As implemented, I don't find them usefull.

Why?
------------------------------------------------
I have a group that meets every Monday night.
Ah! a recurring event!
But.....
1) What we do at the meeting changes each week, and I like to have that displayed so people can check the calendar to see what's going on. Since the "Event" consumes only one db entry, I can only put one "Description" in which becomes the same for every event for the whole year :-(

2) Being in the US, we don't meet on Memorial or Labor Day (both Monday holidays), but there is no "exclusion" list (again, only one DB entry), it "looks" like we meet those days :-(

3) One week a month, we start 1/2 hour later.
How to handle that?? :-(

Solution!
------------------------------------------------
What I am thinking though is allow you to create recurring events weekly, monthly, yearly from a start to end date (new in V4), but have the code
insert distinct records in the database.

That way, I could schedule 52 weekly (or 12 monthly, or once yearly) meetings quickly, then handle the exceptions. And since the meetings are now separate entries, I can change the description for each one to reflect that nights agenda.

Does that make sense?? Seem worth while??
