Change active day Color

I want to change the today's bgcolor and I can't figure out how to do it. I have searched this board and I did find some code that someone suggested but when I try it I get multiple days. For instance 3 copies of each day starting with the first of the month. I am using v4.2 if anyone has some suggestions I would appreciate it.
