Version 4.3

Hi all,

Last year, around June, I was tasked with adding a calendar to a web application we use daily for event management, so that we could also manage leave, meetings, etc. After some research I found ltwCalendar and thought it streets ahead of anything else I could find that was similar. Since we use SQL Server, I needed to port it but, rather than do just that, I extended it whilst preserving the existing MySql functionality.

This update is V4.2.1 updated accordingly, along with a number of bug fixes and other improvements, including better style support and other appearance improvements and doxygen documentation.

The complete details are in ltw_changelog.txt. I have also updated ltw_readme.txt and taken the liberty of calling it v4.3. I have tested it on several systems, as described and have found only one problem. That is that the installer did not work for SQL Server on 2003 Server with SQL Server 2000. I believe the cause to be DB security rather than the installer but did not have the energy to spend another age fighting battles with MS security. Since this has been sitting around for the better part of 6 months waiting for me to have time to finish and release it, I prefer to get it out there and get some feedback rather than fiddle with it any longer. As a result, I have included a sql script which will create the tables on SQL Server if all else fails and documented same.

I have checked the source into the SF SVN repository and I will send separately some sample images of my styled version and the style sheet to match. My version is tweaked to remove the header, footer and left nav area, as well. I have left the release in it's default state, though, for consistency.

I don't know how access to those can be arranged so I will try and answer any questions that arise in the meantime.

This version has been in daily use at my place of work for around 6 months and is doing well.

Cheers,

Gary.

RE: Version 4.3

Hi,

At long last my changes have made it into the SourceForge SVN repository. Example pics and files are with Matt and hopefully might make it here or somewhere else accessible. Feedback is welcome and I'll try and check here occasionally to answer any questions that arise.

Cheers,

Gary.
