In order to test the algorithm, it would be best to remove the teleport completely. That way the only thing a robot could do is rely upon their algorithm. Oh, and make sure the map isn't regenerated for each person.

I don't have the results any more... but they varied from under 2100 to over 2600. I am not concerned about placing, really... looking at the other algorithms, mine just isn't as good.... but random seeds mean luck can be the difference between being in the top 10 and being in the bottom half.

I agree completely. The problem is that this cannot happen now... it should have been known from the beginning. Some people would probably have created different algorithms if no teleports were available (i guess appleeaters would be better than robotdestroyers).
