[appleeaters]Leave it alone and deal.

Don't change the robotslib anymore. Not even for judging. When you have a timelimit of 60 seconds every change you make to the lib is going to increase or decrease the effciency of a script to master that given time period. Frankly I think all the complaining about it being slow or improperly coded is crying over split milk. The rules of the contents where simple, code the best player that finishes under 60 seconds given the current robotslib. No where did it say complain about the robotslib until it gets changed to make it so you more time to execute your function. This is a optimization algorithm your going have to trade off certain checks for other types of checks. I've found a effective algorithm that scored at least 400 points and completed before 60 seconds with the first and second libs on even the 1001000 boards with 10,000 plus elements (robots/apples). Just think a little. Stop complaining.

[appleeaters]RE: Leave it alone and deal.

It's not a matter of thinking, you must understand, the library was coded VERY poorly and can be much faster. It's not neccessarily a matter of us not being able to execute our code in the tiny ammount of time the library leaves us, its that we could excute more complex code (and therefore higher point obtaining code) if the library that we have 0 control over left us more time.

If you look at my post (Library) there are plenty of simple ways this library could be much faster. It's not us that needs to think more, it's the one who coded the library.

Just so it didn't seem like an anonymous flame I signed up. The previous post was by me.

[appleeaters]RE: Leave it alone and deal.

In my experience with real-life applications you get poorly written code all the time. Most of the time you can't just tell the vendor to go and fix it, and you can't go and change it because it would have to be reversed engineered because you have no source. I think the robotslib should of been made into compiled code then there would of been no peaking.

And to address what you said last, it is up to us to think more. It's a contest for us, not the library coder.
