[Blackjack] Cheating

If I were to somehow cheat and get away with it, then tell you a month later, would your reaction be:

a. "Revoke his/her prize! Ban him/her from Codewalkers!"
b. "We'll have to be more careful next time..."
c. "He/she must be an incredibly skilled programmer, to have done that and gotten away with it... I have to say, I'm impressed."
d. Other (please specify)

You can't cheat, I go through all the code before I let it run on my server

So if someone sends in code that has no comments, single letter identifiers, no indentation, etc., you'll actually spend time trying to understand the person's program??

Wow, you must be a very patient person

So, then how long after the handin date will it be before the actual competition starts, ie when the scripts get executed? When can we expect the results?

Well, I don't need to fully understand each solution to see if something fishy is going on

And to answer your question, it usually takes a week or two, depending on how much time we (organizers) have...

If I wanted to beat the system, and sent in one entry that cheated and another that didn't (just in case), and you found out about the cheating entry, would the entry that didn't cheat also be disqualified?

Why don't you let us know HOW you are going to cheat and we'll let you know if you are likely to get away with it

I really hope you have a dynamic IP address because I suspect big brother will be keeping a close eye on you now.

Of course, it's not the script that's disqualified, it's you

[Blackjack] RE: Cheating

Cheating is not allowed. Situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. As long as you stay within the bounds of the rules, everything will be OK. I'm not going to start saying what will happen in particular situations. I hate dealing with across the board rules like that. If you cheat and get caught, we will deal with you then.

Obviously, it would be very easy to put through multiple entries under different aliases. While not strictly agains the rules, it is discouraged. I'm not going to sit here and say that I will figure it out if you submit multiple entries as most likely I won't. It's all about honor and good sportsmanship. That's what should keep you in line .

I wouldn't really try to cheat, as I would probably get caught anyway... I just wanted to see the reactions.
