[Blackjack] game over

Hi!
As far as I understand each round of this contest will be 60 secs (handled by judging script).
What happens if my script didn't play all cards available maybe because I spent lots of time on trying to win hands?

Hmm.. good question

Let's say you lose 1 point for each card left. I don't want scripts to quit playing in the middle of a deck if they manage to get lots of money, it's not fair to those that play the whole deck.

Matt, please post this on the rules page.

Cool, I don't mind to loose points as long as I keep the money

[Blackjack] RE: game over

There goes my briljant strategy ! I wanted to get the script in an infinitive loop so no bet would have been made.
That should have given me a fair chance to keep all the 1000 USD after 60 seconds. ;)

[Blackjack] RE: game over

Hi!
Another question concerning the end of a game. What happens if nearly all available cards are played. Lets say there a 3 cards left? Obviously not enough to play a real game but it would not be fair to deduct points from the player.
Maybe the game should end if there are lets say 10 cards left - assuming 5 cards are under some circumstanes a win and 10 = 2 * 5 this would be a reasonable chance for player and dealer...

No no, if you reach the end of the deck, there is no penalty. However, if you don't, you'll lose 1 point per card.

Hmm..my script can handle about 4 decks per SECOND. So it's not really an issue here ;)

O.K., to make it more clear: 3 cards left, I get 2 cards giving me 16 points, dealer gets 1 card and only 8 points. There is no card left to draw so I choose to stand. Dealer cant get any more cards. Do I win?!

No, if there are only 3 cards, the initial dealing can't happen - both you and the dealer receive 2 cards each. But, if there were 4 cards:

You 10+10, Dealer 10+8, you stand -> you win
You 10+8, Dealer 10+10, you stand -> you lose
You 3+6, Dealer 10+8, you hit -> refund
You 10+10, Dealer 4+6, you stand -> refund
You 10+5, Dealer 10+10, you hit -> refund (this is valid

Basically, if a card should be dealt for any reason (like hitting, dealer rules or whatever else), but there is no card left, there'll be a refund. If there is no cards left, but no card is needed, the hand is evaluated normally and the game ends after that.

Nasty XsO ;-)
Nevertheless now I do understand what happens when the last cards are reached. Hope this question wasn't too dumb but I couldn#t find anything about this situation in the contest rules...
