RE: Capture the Flag

two quickies about his one (which sounds cool!)

1. Do traps vanish after they are triggered, or do they remain throughout the game?

2. What happens if you move to a square the opponent is on?

RE: Capture the Flag

1. Traps always remain set after you lay them down. Triggering a trap does not make it vanish.

2. Nothing. You would never know you are on the same square unless you did a locate.

RE: Capture the Flag

OK, time for a nasty one then. If I do a locate and discover thet my opponent is in the same square as me (we're on top of each other), which way do I shoot my laser? Can I even shoot him if we're in the same square?

RE: Capture the Flag

That would be a tough one for your script to decide. Remember, you can shoot the death ray either up, down, left or right. So, no, you can't hit him if he is on the same square. But, also remember that the locate you do tells you where your opponent is on your turn. Your opponent has a turn to take before you get your next turn....

What is the data in input.txt if you successfully or unsuccessfully lay a teleport down?

RE: Capture the Flag

I see three holes in the rules...

1) Do I exploit them?
2) Do I point them out now?
3) Do I write code utilizing them and wait for yet another rule change/clarification so I have to start again?

(free one) how to capture the flag?

Before doing anything reread the rules..

The winner will be the script that gets to the square with the other teams flag on it first, or the team who kills the other team.

RE: Capture the Flag

So when I fire a death ray and I do not hit anything, Am I GAME OVER then? Or will I die, and reincarnate the next turn?

So, if you win when you hit your opponent with a death ray, I know what I am going to do... KILL my Opponent...

P.S. Matt, cool contest this time...

RE: Capture the Flag

"What is the data in input.txt if you successfully or unsuccessfully lay a teleport down?"

TRAPOK or TRAPBAD

" I see three holes in the rules...

1) Do I exploit them?
2) Do I point them out now?
3) Do I write code utilizing them and wait for yet another rule change/clarification so I have to start again?

(free one) how to capture the flag?"
1. up to you...
2. I would appreciate it..
3. Again up to you, would depend on 1 and 2

how to capture the flag? The winner will be the script that gets to the square with the other teams flag on it first

" red starts from 29,27 or 29,28?"

The white team starts on 0,1 and the red team starts on 29,27.

"Can I lay teleport and sticky trap at one square and which effect this make?"
You can't now. Answered in another thread..update to rules made...

" So when I fire a death ray and I do not hit anything, Am I GAME OVER then? Or will I die, and reincarnate the next turn?"

If you fire the death ray, and you hit nothing then nothing happens. You are alive and still playing.

"P.S. Matt, cool contest this time..."
Thanks!
