i do not understood this phrase:
'All face up cards in a column on the tableau must be moved together.'

Basically it means that if you have these card face up:

8H,7S,6D,5C,4D

That if you want to move the cards to another column, you can't pick up from the 6D down, you have to pick up all the face up cards.

BigUgga,
I believe that Matt is telling us that when you want to move cards around within the tableau, you must move all the cards that are face up. For example, if you have a King of Clubs in a column by itself, and you have a Queen of Hearts and a Jack of Clubs in another column(face up), you must move both cards over to the column with the King of Clubs. Does that make sense?
