crossword question

Hi,

1.Can we connect two horizontal(vertical) words? For example wordlist.txt contains the following:
table
eagle
Then is it legal to output:tableagle

2.Should we fill all fields(20x20=400) with letters?

3.wordlist words:
toaster
table
array

Is the following good or bad?

toaster
array
b
l
e

I think it's bad because wordlist doesn't contain : or, ar, sa ,ty

(Sorry for my easy english)

RE: crossword question

1)I'm guessing you can't
"Before and after each word there must be either an empty space or the edge of the puzzle."
2)same quote
3)I don't think that's correct

I had another question though, can we put blank spaces anywhere we want?
eg
table, top, boat, all

table
oÂ*oÂ*Â*
pÂ*all
Â*Â*tÂ*Â*

RE: crossword question

I'm actually wondering how many people would deliver a decent script...

I was thinking about it and I got so stressed by the ammount of loops it would take (a chess computer seems easier to make ;)) that I decided to do nothing :p

RE: crossword question

Errr...
I'm confused...
Is the example Anonymous#1 gave right or wrong?
Does Anonymous#2 think that #1's example is not correct? Or does he think that #1's thought about it being bad not correct? (which would make the example correct)

Please answer in complete sentence, thank you.

The #1's example is wrong, because
Quote:
All words in the output must come from the wordlist.txt

The #2's example is correct.

RE: crossword question

Yes, that is where the problem came from. But, make sure you follow the rules listed on this site. There are some subtle differences.

To be honest, i can't even figure out where to start, or what the algorithm should work.
Maybe i should think longer... But usually it doesn't take longer then 10 minutes to figure out how to even _START_
