next??
The crossword puzzle contest was great! It helped teach me some things about handling multi-dimensional arrays in PHP and allowed me to incorporate some nice HTML as well. I don't feel the same way about this contest. There's no real usefulness in it's code and it's got ZERO visual stimulation. I decided not to participate in the CTF contest, I hope the next one is better and I can't wait for it's release!

RE: next??
I disagree with all the points except for "real usefulness"; I feel that any submissions to this will be hard to add to a portfolio, whereas the crossword puzzle was significant enough that I would add it to my portfolio when showing it to others.
In regards to visual stimulation, etc, I feel those are moot points, as I've done topcoder.com contests, and those are pure parsing, manipulating contests. If you want practice in handing multi-dimensional arrays, etc, go to topcoder.com (though those contests are in c++, java, or c#) |
